Here at The Westbury Senior Living, we believe in the power of a chuckle. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s important to remember that laughter reduces stress, boosts morale, and enhances teamwork and creativity. Throughout the year as Business Office Director, a part of my role has always been promoting employee appreciation. From social recognition and milestone awards to our weekly creative follow-ups (CFUs), we always take a moment for our hard-working team members.
My favorite CFU from the past year was when we celebrated the employees with the longest commute. It served as a genuine testament to their unwavering dedication, as some of them drive for up to an hour each day to come to work.
These CFUs will continue throughout the year, but we are truly excited to celebrate Employee Appreciation Day on March 1st. Join us as we share laughter by creating a sense of camaraderie amongst our team and continue with the power of a chuckle. This year, our theme is “Out of This World!” Employees will be transported to another dimension as they step into our breakroom.
Surrounded by aliens, they’ll embark on a journey to the time clock. Neon lights will guide them as they attempt to win candy from the alien pinata. Who will emerge victorious in the “mask on the astronaut” contest? Our team will come together to share laughter and fun during this space-themed adventure, all while aiming for a truly stellar gift. Your presence will make the event even more memorable.
These are just a few examples of the many wonderful ways The Westbury shows appreciation to the team. We genuinely believe that when done right, employee recognition creates a workplace culture that helps people thrive. It promotes retention and makes us a great place to work, which, in turn, makes us a great place to live.
