Spring cleaning, a cherished tradition observed in various cultures globally, undergoes a transformation as the Earth’s axis tilts, ushering in the rejuvenation of winter landscapes in the northern hemisphere. Daffodils bloom, grass transforms into lush green carpets, and temperatures gradually rise from late March to early April.

The concept of spring cleaning has evolved into a nationally recognized event, observed during Spring Cleaning Week.

This annual initiative transcends mere household chores, extending to encompass various aspects of individuals’ lives, including finances, technology, and more.

With this broader perspective in mind, the community of The Westbury Senior Living in Columbia, MO, gears up for its community-wide, spring-cleaning endeavor! This marks the fourth consecutive year that Arrow Senior Living has embraced this springtime tradition across our communities. Each passing year proves to be even more successful than the last.

I spring clean at work by popping open a few windows and cleaning them. It’s not about finishing a huge task but about getting everyone involved to uplift the mood and blow away the winter blues. There seems to be a pheromone response because it significantly improves everyone’s mood.

Beyond the obvious benefits of cleanliness, spring cleaning boosts everyone’s mood, and I believe mood management is one of the most crucial attributes a manager can possess.

This year, I also plan to declutter and start saving for a summer vacation, something we’ve never done before.

As we, the community, gather to undertake this annual ritual, we remember the power of collective action and the significance of tending to our shared environment. Our efforts not only rejuvenate our homes and neighborhoods but also fortify the bonds that unite us as members of a vibrant and thriving community.
